Meet our team
André Hamersma
Chief Executive Officer
After completing his Honours degree in 1994, André worked for 25 years in the foreign exchange, money market, interest rate and derivative markets. During this time, he headed up the largest foreign exchange corporate dealing desk in South Africa.
André is passionate about financial markets and has been assisting corporate clients with hedging currency and interest rate risk for over 25 years. He has also spent time in the wine industry where he received several accolades for his wines. André founded StellCap in May 2017.
Pieter Oberholzer
Senior Currency Portfolio Manager
Pieter joined the StellCap team in October 2017 after spending most of his professional career in the tax and accounting field. He holds a B.Comm degree as well as a post-graduate diploma in tax law from the University of Stellenbosch.
Apart from being an avid believer in exceptional customer service and the importance of good old-fashioned relationships, his other passions include aviation, good food and wine.
Justin Kightley
Senior Portfolio Manager
Justin joined the StellCap team in 2022, having worked for more than twenty years in foreign exchange and interest rate sales and trading. He also has extensive experience in derivatives sales and structuring.
He is an ACI Certified Market Professional, has a B.Comm (honours) in economics, and an MSc in Finance. Justin has a passion for financial markets and a weakness for red wine and bicycles.

Graeme Robertson
Senior Portfolio Manager
Graeme spent 26 years at a leading local bank before joining StellCap in 2024. He is vastly experienced in all aspects of foreign exchange, money markets, and derivatives and believes in personal relationships and exceptional client service. Graeme is a keen golfer and is passionate about nature and the bushveld.
Carol-Anne du Preez
Operations Manager
Carol-Anne started her career in the Banking industry in 1992 where she worked herself up to a managerial position. She later joined the Diamond Industry where she was the Office Manager and responsible for imports and exports of rough diamonds. Carol-Anne joined StellCap in 2021.
Carol-Anne is an outgoing person with a passion for the well-being of people and relationships. She has strong organizational skills and finds joy in putting effective systems in place to make life easier in the office environment.
Maryke Schröder
Senior Relationship Manager
After finishing her honours degree at the University of Stellenbosch, Maryke worked at various international banks in London and gained global investment banking experience. She joined the JSE in 2012 and relocated to Cape Town.
Maryke joined StellCap in 2018 and is passionate about working with people and building strong relationships.
